Order Picker Attachments - Order picking is likewise called order preparation operation. This is one of the main processes in a warehouse and consists of people called order pickers, collecting and taking articles in a certain quantity previous to shipment so as to fulfill customer orders. Order picking is an easy warehousing method. The effectiveness in which this particular task is done can be directly linked to a supply chain's productivity. Hence, order picking is among the most controlled logistic processes. Order picking falls in the category of the warehouse management system.

There are specific types of order picking which consist of: pick to box method, wave picking method, picker to part method or piece picking, sorting systems method and zone picking method.

The pick to box method involves the order picker filling the box with the stuff from her or his station. The box then moves to the other picking locations until the customer order is complete. In this process, there is no movement of the order picker personnel. In the wave picking method, the order pickers move all-around in order to gather the required items for numerous orders. The piece picking or picker to part method is similar where the order picker or pickers move so as to collect the stuff required but for one order only.

In the sorting systems method, there is no movement of the order picking personnel. Instead, the stuff are delivered to him or her by means of an automated system like for example automatic storage or a conveyor system. In the zone picking method, each and every order picker is assigned to one specific zone. They are responsible for just realizing order picking in this specified area.
